Primarily Colored

Is anyone else noticing how much color blocking is coming back into season!!?
Well I have, and it's driven me mad with color schemes!! For those of you who didn't pass art or skipped art class; the "primary colors" of the color wheel are the only three colors that you cannot mix any two colors to make, red yellow and blue.
I was so inspired by the primary colors, that I had to make an outfit of it!!
Thus this fun spring attire!! I hope you like it!!
Get inspired by colors this summer!!

Orchid Bliss

Check out this adorable orchid broach I found in a vintage shop in my neighborhood!
Love this ALDO purse because the strap allows you to wear it two ways!!

Scoop Back!
Scoop Front!
My new favorite ring I found at the BCBG outlet :)
I love shopping the sales rack at Urban Outfitters. I always seem to find some hidden gem when I do. I found this dress stuffed away in the $19.99 sales rack and had to buy it. I love the print on this dress. To me the print resembles orchids, so that's what I'm calling it...orchid print. This dress is so elegant by itself so I added my old jean jacket (Abercrombie & Fitch, circa 2004) to make it a casual attire. This dress can be worn casually during the day and for your evening festivities, just slip off the jean jacket and add some bling for a more formal look (great for a wedding or dinner date). But Wait!! The dress isn't the only gem in this outfit that can be worn two ways!!

I absolutely adore my ALDO quilted chain purse!!
Reason being...
1. It resembles are dear friend CHANEL quilted purse
2. The strap adjusts to over-the-shoulder or under-arm
3. It only cost me $29
4. Like this fabulous dress, this purse can too be worn casually and to a formal outing
&
5. It has a few hidden pouches I like to keep my skeletons in ;)

Hope this outfit provides you with some shopping ideas!!

A day by the bay

As I wonder the streets of NYC and become more familiar with this city, I continue to keep my eyes pealed for great photo-op spots. I wondered upon this particular spot, the  Brooklyn Bridge Park, with its fantastic views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge.  Unfortunately the wind and setting sun made it very difficult for this solo photographer to capture some decent style photos. But even with the strong winds and perplexed passing looks, I wasn't about to let this photo-op go to waste.  For this day by the bay, I styled my outfit with a "nautical" colorway. I did so by keeping the core colors neutral while adding a pop of an accent color like red. And for you ladies who aren't a fan of the 5 inch heel, this look would also look fabulous with some casual flats.

Have a fabulous Monday!!

Hot Red Daisy Dukes

To my LA friends who are enjoying basking in the sunny weather and getting your tan on the beach, just remember that your friend Whitney is still freezing her ass off on the East Coast.
Today was one of those days when I would have given anything for some warm weather, so to make myself feel more like summer, I pulled out one of my favorite summer shorts.
Normally, this would be an outfit I would wear during the summer, but since the temperature in NY isn't getting above 40, I decided to weather-proof my summer getup and make into a winter/summer outfit. For those of you, who are still bearing cold weather with me, just throw on a warm thermal under a cute shear top you would normally wear in summer. Or pair your favorite summer daisy dukes with some black tights and heels. I promise you'll get some head-turns.

I hope that helps you get some outfits going for the last of the winter days!!

Love,
Whit
